How we handle your information
The short version: no accounts, no cookies, no ads, and nothing that follows you to other sites. We do not know who you are.
What happens when you use the site
- No cookies and no tracking. The site stores nothing in your browser and uses no advertising or analytics company.
- The address search runs in your browser. It looks addresses up in files your browser downloads from this site, grouped by their first two letters. What you type is not sent anywhere, but which file your browser asks for (say, the one for streets starting "qu") shows up in the host's logs, like any page request.
- "Use my location" stays on your device. Your browser works out which neighbourhood you are in; your location is never sent to us.
- Counting, without cookies. See what we count below. Nothing is counted if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
- Hosting. Cloudflare serves the pages and the data files. The background of each map comes from Esri, whose servers see which part of the map you are looking at. Like every web host, both see your IP address and keep logs under their own privacy policies. Fonts and code all come from this site, so nothing is loaded from Google.
When you report a problem
The report form is on GitHub. What you write there, and your GitHub username, are public, under GitHub's privacy statement. If you would rather not post publicly, use the email address below.
